Comics 20000 Festival, April 22 & 23 2000AD

CHILDRENS EVENTS

As well as two days of exhibitions and displays, the following events will be taking place at The Watershed Media Centre and Jurys Hotel, The Waterfront, Bristol as part of the Comics 2000 Festival. These items are particularly suited to younger attendees. Children under 8 are admitted free (accompanied by one parent or guardian - further adults will need to buy a 3 Browser ticket). Some times and details may be subject to change.

Items shown below in YELLOW BOXES are included as part of the FANBOY TICKET (only 6 for 2 days, includes all Browser ticket events - see TICKETS) Items shown below in RED BOXES are SPECIAL EVENTS which are individually ticketed (see TICKETS).

Pokemon - Free demonstrations + comics

At Wizards Of The Coast's stand in the Comics Fair, there are demonstrations of Pokemon card game all weekend - absolutely free! And at Dynamic Forces' stand there are unique copies of the Pokemon comics, signed by the cartoon voice artists. Also the widest range of Pokemon toys, comics and memorabilia you've ever seen.

Costume Parade

Dress as any comic character you like. From Desperate Dan to Superman, from Judge Dredd to Dennis The Menace. Prizes to be won in all age ranges (open to adults as well as kids!) Led by costume designer Elaine Mace. All entrants get a free Fanboy ticket (worth 6).

Comic Art Classes

Run by the Comic Creators Guild (Saturday) and Joe Kubert Comic Art School students (Sunday). Artists and writers from all types of comics, including new Korky The Cat artist Paul Palmer and storyboard artists from Aardman animation will help you tell stories with pictures.

11am - 1pm Sat Apr 22nd, Sun Apr 23rd Included as part of the BROWSER TICKET (only 3 for 2 days - see TICKETS). Free to under-8s (accompanied by one parent or guardian - further adults will need to buy a 3 Browser ticket)

Weird-Ohs Animation Premiere

Premiere UK screening of the brand new computer-animated cartoon from the makers of Beast Wars, Beast Machines, Shadow Raiders and Transformers. Crazy cartoon antics on hot rods "Road Runner meets Road Warrior". Plus unseen episodes of Beast Wars and Shadow Raiders

Aardman Animations Exhibition

Brand new exhibition of the work of Bristol's own Aardman animations, from Wallace & Gromit to Rex The Runt, from Morph to Robbie The Reindeer. On show all day Saturday and Sunday at The Watershed.

Ka-Blam Splatt!

A fun panel game about comic special effects, led by David Leach, Pat Kelleher + leading writers and artists from funny comics including Sonic The Comic, The Beano and Rugrats.

Sonic Sunday
